About Us

The Polite House began in my kitchen with beeswax melting on the stove, little ones playing nearby, and candles hanging to cure from a string tied across the room.

I had been using beeswax to make food wraps, and one day, I decided to use that same wax to create something else, a candle that could mark twenty quiet minutes of peace before the day began. Those moments quickly became sacred. They grounded me in prayer, strengthened my faith, and gave me the clarity to face the day with a sound mind and a peaceful heart.

What I found in those twenty minutes changed everything, not just my mornings, but my whole life. I started a 20-day challenge to reset my habits, and when it ended, I realized there was only one habit that truly transformed my days: opening my Bible and spending time with God.

Every detail of the 20-Minute Candle Set came from that conviction. I wanted women to have something effortless and beautiful, a tool that could elevate any space, quiet the noise, and draw them into Scripture for the entire time the candle burns.

Today, The Polite House has become more than candles. It’s a growing Bible reading community with women across the country lighting their candles each morning, sharing what they’re learning, and finding connection through the same light that started in my kitchen.

Each candle is hand-poured with a purpose: to help you slow down, make space for God, and rediscover the peace that comes when you begin your day with Him.
